Essential
The biggest need for any mission station or church, foreign or domestic is ...
* not how to win the lost
* not how to disciple the babes in Christ
* not how to obtain funds
* not how to preach and teach the Gospel
* not how to know God's will

The biggest need is for "labourers" to gather the "plenteous harvest".

Mat 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Mat 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Mat 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Mat 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Good Start
Frequently, a pastor or missionary does not lack for souls to be won. Many come to Christ, but without ever becoming a labourer, they soon fall away, become interested in something of the world and are gone. The need is not for Christians. There is always by far more of them than there are Christian labourers.

The need for labourers is ...
* tantamount to lasting victory
* prerequisite to reproductive growth
* challenging to visionaries

The Problem
You, as a missionary, already know how to win the lost.
* You have the confidence
* You have the boldness
* You have the courage
* You have the understanding and knowledge
* You have the reward of a soul winner, too.
Your people probably do not.

All of the above belong to the ones with experience. Experience breeds a thirst for more and more and more. Experience does not just teach knowledge, it brings with it the use of knowledge. Practical Application!

Skill
Of course we are not talking about talent. We are touting the benefits of learnable skill. Legions are those who have gone through soul winning ...
* classes
* seminars
* conferences
* courses
and remain fruitless.

But the Christian who gathers Bible knowledge and quickly puts it to practical work is the one who comes away with ...
* lasting victory
* reproductive growth
* a vision for more areas and occasions in which to apply their knowledge

Soul Winning Right Away
Your converts need discipling, but they also must very soon began to labour with the Gospel in the ripe harvest.

Preparations in the Wrong Area
How often we begin by teaching the new convert the plan of salvation or Roman Road or some other road, then trail off into endless worldly discussions on ...
* how to start a conversation
* how to charm a prospect with compliments to get their attention
* how to illustrate a concept
* how to ...

The simple truth is that the harvest is ripe and we, me, you and your converts, just need to speak the the truth of the Gospel in listening ears and let God do the heart changing as He did for us as well.

I was recently at the State Fair of Texas. A friend and I were discussing some topic long forgot. A lady in her 20's came up to my friend's booth and was looking at a Spiritual Time Line he had hung on the wall.

I looked up and asked, do you know for sure that you are saved or born again? She replied negatively. I asked, "But if I could show you what it takes to be saved, you sure would like to see it, wouldn't you?" she said, "Sure."

I showed it to her. She did not ask the Lord to save her at the moment, but she heard the Gospel in detail.

The take-away here is this ...
* I did not get into a lot of warm-up talk.
* I did not search for a way to get into the Gospel.
* I did not attempt to discover where she was, spiritually.
The harvest is ready to reap. There are plenty of willing listeners. Just tell the story.

Deficient
The problem is that soul winners do not know what they can get away with in dealing with the lost. They lack experience.
* Not classrooms
* Not books
* Not lessons
* Not studies ...
to know what to do or how to perform.
They lack practical familiarity.

Paradox?
This is beginning to sound like the old paradox:

I cannot get credit because I do not have a credit rating. I cannot get a credit rating because I don't have credit.
The dog is chasing his tail.

The same seems true here. You do not have experience because it takes experience to obtain it.

2 Areas
Actually this is not true.
Think back on all of your soul winning training. It can be broke down into 2 areas.

1. First Area is getting them in front of an open Bible
* Knowing how to deal with prospects ...
   - introductions
   - conversation starters
   - warm-ups
   - etc.
* Knowing what verses to use

2. Second Area is Winning, Warning and Walking by using the Bible and ...
* imparting the Gospel
* suggesting a prayer
* warning against insincere profession
* imparting assurance
* pointing them to your church

Immediate Entry
What if your labourers could be trained using
* 0 minutes in the first area
* 20-30 minutes in the second area

This would be immediate entry into ...
* Winning the lost
* Warning with planting and watering
* Walking converts into discipleship

How?
This can be done ...
* at public events
* in a soul winning booth
* with Spartan furnishings
* using Team Soul Winning

Simple Mechanics
1. A Shift Leader (first half the Team) is trained in an hour
* to nail down 3+3+3=Seated Method
* to seat prospects
* in front of Workers
Shift Leaders experience very little confrontational issues and objections, because they use 3 Questions to Greet, Meet and Seat the prospects (15 minutes is needed to know what to do, 45 minutes is needed to know what not to do)
2. Workers (second half of the Team) are trained
* in how to use a Witness Pamphlet
* which is read to and with the prospects
Workers experience very little confrontational issues or objections because the prospect has already told the Shift Leader that they want to see how to be born again, saved.
(20-30 minutes is needed at a regularly scheduled service to know what is expected and how to do it)

Tried and Proven
This is not ...
* an untried idea
* an unproven theory
* a come-on to sell some more soul winning training literature
