Verses
"That which we have seen and heard declare we
unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our
fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ."
"And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full."
"This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare
unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."
"If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness,
we lie, and do not the truth:"
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son
cleanseth us from all sin."

Chapter 1 - Verses 3-7

Explanation
of the Verses
Once a person is
saved, fellowship with God is available. In
order to be a part of this fellowship, you must walk in the light
where God is walking.
To walk in the darkness, where sin and the lost are,
is not to lose your salvation, but is to not be in fellowship with
God.

Sustain
To maintain fellowship make your path where God dwells:
amongst the good, kind, merciful and loving.
It just stands to reason, you cannot be with God, if
you are walking with His enemies.

Why No Fellowship
There are two reason why a person does not have fellowship with God.
1. Not
saved
See: How to be
Saved, have
Salvation
2.
Saved, but walking in the dark and with the dark things of this
world, backslidden.

Backslidding
