"Now I Know,
that I Know,
that I Know"
Being brought up as Roman Catholic and having practiced this
religion more than half of my life, I believed that Roman
Catholicism was #1 and the only true religion. As a Catholic, I
always had a great fear of dying and going to Hell.
Although as Catholics, we were taught to work our way, pay our way,
and do good works toward earning Heaven, we were taught that no one
could know for sure that they were going to go directly to Heaven!!!
The Catholic priest(s) (and doctrine) taught us that "no one could
know for sure they were going directly to Heaven because anyone
saying they knew for sure was guilty of the grievously wicked 'sin
As Catholics, we were not allowed to attend service at a Baptist
Church or any non-Catholic church or to read non-Catholic tracts.
Being a good Catholic meant not reading any "religious" material
unless the word "Imprimatur" us officially imprinted on the
saved when I was 51 years old (May 29, 1976) - two days after
my physical birthday. At first it seemed difficult to understand the
simple message of salvation. I did not know that it is/was so easy
and simple to be
saved and accept the Lord as my Saviour. Finally
realizing that my good works could never be "good enough" or
sufficient to "earn Heaven", I felt FREED; because now I can see;
I'm not blind anymore. Praise the Lord!!! Now that I am born-again,
Bible-believing Christian, I believe the Lord was preparing my
family and me to be
saved and follow and serve Him.
When m daughter, Vicky, witnessed to me, I was in much anguish over
a tragedy in the family. I had pain in my chest and down my arm - I
thought I was having a heart attack as she explained the Gospel (1
Cor 15:3-4) - how Jesus Christ is God and that He was there to take
it all away and that He loved me and had shed His own precious
blood, had died in my place for my sins. At first I didn't believe
her, but knowing I had no where to turn, I cried out to the Lord to
help me. Praise the Lord!!! - He did. He took that pain away. I quit
crying, and a peace came over me because I knew I had a Saviour who
truly cared about me.
So for the past 30 years, through tragedy, much pain, sorrow and
heartache (especially the loss of my husband, my oldest son, and my
great-grandson), I know my Lord has seen me through it all.
Throughout the past 30 years, I've been a soul winner. I am not
afraid to witness to anyone. When I meet people, I give them tracts,
and I ask questions such as: "Are you
saved; do you know Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Saviour?" Praise the Lord!!! I have been
used of the Lord to lead many to be
saved and brought to the Lord.
I've made sure they have a Bible, try to disciple
them so they know what the Lord expects of them: become part of a
Christ-centered, Bible Believing, Independent, Fundamental, Soul
Winning, local Baptist Church that uses the KJV only. I try to teach
them to read the Bible, get Baptized, to pray, to witness, to tell
others how to get
saved, to care and have a broken heart for those
souls who are on their way to Hell.
I pray I'm a testimony to anyone who knows I'm a
Christian now, an I intend to follow my Lord 'til He comes and takes
me Home with Him. I try to obey His commandments to go, to tell, and
to bring the lost in, so they will not go to Hell. I pray daily for
my family, friends, and neighbors (and even my enemies.)
Ever since I got
saved and came out of Catholicism,
I see fire around people who are lost. The Lord urges us to talk to
them. I'm afraid that unsaved person will go on their way and might
get killed or die and end up in that horrible eternal fire (Hell). I
always carry tracts, and I pass them out any where and every where.
I mail them in all bills and greeting cards (birthday, anniversary,
get well cards, etc.). I have witnessed to all my side of the
family, and all we could on my husband's side too. I've given them
all Bibles (sadly, I doubt they read them). I've invited them to
numerous functions at our church as well as to come hear my son,
Glenn, preach (he's an evangelist) and to hear his Bluegrass Gospel
band. I also sent them his tapes and CD's (sadly, I doubt they've
even listened to them).
Many on both sides of the family finally accepted
the Lord on their death beds (literally just prior to dying). Praise
the Lord!!! I will keep praying for the others and ill keep telling
them about my Lord. I love my family (immediate, extended, and
"adopted") and I don't want any of them to go to Hell (nor my
A few months after I was
saved, I stopped reading that false
Catholic version because the word "Penance" replaced the correct
word - "Repent". I turned to the authorized
King James Bible, which
is the only Bible I read because I know that the KJV is the only
Bible for us as English speaking people.
I believe in reading my Bible daily and praying over
my list of everyone - my pastor, other pastors, missionaries, and
their families, our your people, such folks and my others. I'm happy
to say "I've read my King James Bible 34 times - and I don't care
what the Catholic priest said about us never be able to understand
the Bible apart from the Catholic Church interpreting it for us.
I led a Catholic lady (who was near death) to the
Lord, and she accepted the King James Bible from me. I urge all that
have accepted the Lord as their Saviour to read His Word daily!!!
My favorite verse is John 3:16. It is carved on my
husband's and my shared tombstone. I love God's Holy Word, the
Bible. I have just recently taken a challenge given by my preacher
son, Glenn, and have read through the entire Bible in three months.
I am so hungry for the Truth - the Word of God. My son, Glenn,
advised me to always open the Bible so the individual(s) can see by
themselves that my source is the Bible and so that the person would
know "thus saith the Lord" not "thus saith Jennie." I've memorized
many Scripture verses, and have searched for answers to many things
that come up and have always made sure I'd show people the Word of
God in the Bible.
I KNOW that I now have joy in my heart and I'm a happy, content
person. I KNOW for sure I'm not alone, that the Lord is always with
me, and that He will be back and take me to Heaven someday soon.
Are you born again?
"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
(John 3:3) I pray if anyone who is not sure of salvation who is
reading my testimony will:
- Admit you are a sinner (Rom 3:23)
- Believe Jesus died on the cross taking your place, shedding His
blood for you as the one and only perfect and sinless payment for
your sin (Rom 6:23) knowing you can do nothing good enough to earn
Heaven; (Eph 2:8,9)
- Confess Him as your Lord and Savior. (Rom 10:9,10,13)
Praise the Lord!!! Amen.
