The Parable of the
All of mankind falls into the following
* The Lost, no hope outside of Jesus Christ
saved, who begin shortly to backslide because of
circumstances, because they are attempting to live the Christian
life in their own strength
saved, who begin shortly to backslide because of misguided
values, because they are attempting to live the Christian life in
their own strength
saved, who go on to live victorious lives, because they are
living the Christian life in the power of God, grace.
Mat 13:18 "Hear ye therefore the
parable of the sower."
The Devil and the Lost
Mat 13:19 "When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth
it not, then cometh the
wicked one, and catcheth
away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received
seed by the way side."
Some hear the Word of God and don't understand,
* They were not interested
* They mocked
* They were neglectful
* and many other reasons
Because of this, the devil takes the Word and it's
Mat 13:20 "But he that received the seed
into stony places, the same is he that heareth the
word, and anon with joy receiveth it;"
Mat 13:21 "Yet hath he not root in himself,
but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth
because of the word, by and by he is offended."
Some hear and believe but have no
* They are never able to make a full
* They are very shallow in their
* They will soon have trials and mockings like
all other Christians, but they soon give up and go back
to the world.
Mat 13:22 "He also that received seed among
the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care
of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and
he becometh unfruitful."
Some hear and believe but can't get
past the allure of the world
* They are enticed away by the cares of this
* They allow physical life to push spiritual
things to the side and what little commitment they
Mat 13:23 "But he that received seed into
the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also
beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty,
A few hear, know what is said, believe,
exercise and share
Their walk with the Lord is
critical to the amount of fruit they reap.
Which will you be?
1. The Lost who never really understand
the Word and let the Devil come and catch it away?
2. The Rootless who
saved but never grow in the Word and become offended because of
what the Word says.
3. The Shallow who are
saved but are soon turn back to the things of the world.
4. The Committed Victorious Christian who is
saved and receives the Word and
goes on to produce fruit and show their fruit how to show others to
