To live and
work for the right reasons ...
Have the Right Perspective for Rewards
Gaining Heavenly
treasures.
How?
* Work for Christ and build on Christ.
* Not necessarily doing Christ-like work.
1 Cor 3:11 "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus
Christ."
1 Cor 3:12 "Now if any man build upon this
foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;"
1 Cor 3:13 "Every man's work shall be made
manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed
by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it
is."
1 Cor 3:14 "If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward"
1 Cor 3:15 "If any man's work shall be
burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be
saved; yet so
as by fire."
Doing good things for the wrong reason will
gain
* wood, hay and stubble which will be burned up.
Doing good things for the Lord will acquire
*gold, silver and precious
stones, which will not be consumed by fire, but the fire will refine them to a high
grade of purity, enhancing ownership.
Results:
A heavenly store for a heavenly treasure
John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled:
ye believe in God, believe also in me."
John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many
mansions: if it were not
so, I would have told you. I
go to prepare a place for you."
John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where
I am, there ye may be also."
Jesus is tending to the placement of our
rewards.
We must be tending to the accumulation of
them, by not working for
*ourselves or
* rewards or
* others,
but for
Christ.
Gaining Earthly
Advantages
Rewards are for this time on
earth as well as Heaven. Prove the Word of God to your own satisfaction.
Example: Tithing with the right intentions
Tithe and see if you are not blessed
in the process, while still on this earth..
Mal 3:10 "Bring ye all the tithes into the
storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now
herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the
windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that
there shall not
be room enough
to receive it."
A blessing while still on this earth
The windows of heaven opened in this life.
So much so, there will not be room to receive them.
Repent of your sins and see if you are not
cleansed.
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness."
Cleansing while active in this life
All or our sins are forgiven at salvation. All in the past and all in the future. But we
confess them daily to receive cleansing and fellowship with the Lord during this life.
Forgiving
Forgive others and see if you are not welcomed
back to the fellowship of Christ.
Luke 6:37 "…condemn not, and ye shall not be
condemned: forgive , and ye shall be forgiven"
Forgive and be forgiven daily
"Forgiven" in the context of this passage
has to do with daily confession and cleansing from the damages of
sin in this life. Forgiveness of sin in the next life was cared for
at salvation.
Sow and see if you do not reap the same.
Gal 6:7-9 "Be not deceived; God is not
mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also
reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh
reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the
Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well
doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
Planting and reaping from day to day
Plant your good works daily and see if they
do not bear fruit in this life time as well as later.
Be friendly and see if you do not
gain friends .
Prov 18:24 "A man
that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend
that
sticketh closer than a brother."
Friends for today
Be friendly to people daily
and watch for friends to come your way as
you live this life.
Prove the Bible
* on every front
* in every promise
* to
the utmost extent
