What are the Soul Winner's
Qualifications?
Please do not take this
article
as over simplification
Many have made soul winning
too complicated and too difficult. Soul Winning should be so
simple that even a child can take part or even a recently saved
person. Soul Winning is easy and God is the one who furnishes
the results.

Qualification
To qualify as a soul winner you must simply be saved. The only qualification of a soul winner.
The Great
Christian
The following is a line from another web site which attempts to
define a Soul Winner's Qualifications ...
In a sentence, these qualifications are simply
...
* A heart cleansed and filled with the Holy Spirit, and
* an outward life that is entirely consistent and through which
flows the convicting and drawing power of the Spirit.
And the two things, which above all others will produce these
qualifications are:
* the daily feeding upon God's Word, and
* a life or prayer.
I am sure the author meant well, but he has given
us the definition of a Great Christian. But a Great Christian
is not needed to win souls. God is definitely looking for
Great Christians, but he will use any old Christian to win a soul.
There are 3 reasons why we say this ...
1. 1 Corinthians 3:6
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave
the increase.
So then, what is planting and watering. To
the beginner it is simply statements like ...
"I got saved from all my sin, bet you would like to know about
that?"
"Joe got saved, it changed his life. Do you know what
happened?"
"Jesus saved me and gave me eternal life."
Even if you and I cannot explain any more beyond
those statements, God can use them to affect hearts. They are
simply planting and watering statements, which is all you and I can
do. We can grow in Christ and learn more about what to say and
we should, but planting and watering is part of the soul winning
cycle.
2. Philippians
1:13-18
So that my bonds
(jailed) in Christ are
manifest (made known) in all
the palace, and in all other places;
And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing
(gaining) confident by my
bonds, are much more bold to speak the word
(soul winners) without fear.
Some indeed preach (soul winning,
not sermonizing) Christ even of envy and strife; and some
also of good will:
The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add
affliction to my bonds:
But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the
gospel.
What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in
truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will
rejoice.
One should conclude that if God can use envy and
strife to convict hearts and save them, he can also use my stumbling
and bumbling. As a matter of fact, in God's mind, even the Great
Christian we mentioned earlier is a stumbler and bumbler. God
even has to patch-up what he says.
3. John 4:36-38
And he that reapeth
(reaping) receiveth
(receiving) wages, and
gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he
that reapeth may rejoice together.
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and
another reapeth.
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men
laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
Where is the Great Christian mentioned above?
He or she may or may not have even been part of the process.
1. The first person may have said ...
* "I got saved"
* "Jesus saved me"
* "Jesus Saves" sign on the side of the highway
2. The second person may have been a little further along in his or her
Christian life and said ...
* "Everyone I know is a sinner, but Jesus saves sinners, I saw it in
the Bible"
* "My life was changed when I got saved. I just saw myself as
a sinner and I saw Jesus as my Saviour from my sin."
3. The third person may have said ...
* "Why don't you come to church with me, Sunday? You can hear
for yourself, the preacher is always talking about being saved and
how to be saved?"
* "Let me show you this pamphlet. It explains the process of
being saved. See, right here ..."
The whole time God is using every little thing said or done to
impress a lost soul.
All of the above are participating in the soul winning process and share the same reward as the person who actually does the reaping.

Have you ever heard a previously unknown town mentioned on the radio
or TV and then in the next few weeks, hear it mentioned 3-4 other
times? Or someone's name? Or the name of a recipe? And
so on. This is the way God works. He will use your few
words, then he will have that lost person hear something on TV, then
their child will mention something similar they heard at school and
so on.
The conclusion
is this
There are no qualifications to be a soul winner. We just only
have to speak up and join in with the rest, so God has something to
use in the lost person's life. We will all be rewarded
together.
We should mention as well, that God is very
disappointed if we never grow past the first stage. Get to the
place to where you can plant and water and gather the harvest.
You may never get to be that Great Christian we
started with, but you can be rewarded over and over and over by
entering into the work and labor of others in soul winning and
become a soul winner for Jesus.

At almost every public event in which we set-up our soul winning
booth, we will have someone saved and then that person goes and
bring others to hear the same.
At the Czhilispiel (Chili Fest) in Flatonia, TX, a 16 year old girl
got saved. She spent the rest of the day bringing by all her
friends and relatives. Each time she would walk them up to the
booth and point to us for them to go forward, knowing we would
initiate the discussion and take a step back. When the
prospect sat down, she would take off again, looking for someone
else. She never said anything that we heard, but 16 were led
to the Lord because of her. She is a soul winner
SOUL WINNING!
* without knowing a thing
* without knowing a verse
* without speaking at all
* without training
* without buying books and tapes
Yet, is rewarded in the same manner as the one who reaps the
harvest.
Agreed, she should move on and learn more about Jesus and how to
reap the harvest, but she started without being the Great Christian
of whom other web sites speak.
