When prospects make a statement and you contradict it, they are apt to defend their statement and become closed to input.

Avoid contradictions throughout the witness
When informing them that they are sinners (and it should be done)
do it before they say contrarily.  By getting your lick in early and
including yourself as a sinner, prospects are much more apt to unbiasly see the point.
