Since so few contacted at Fairs and Festivals
actually ever get into church,
how does the Ministry benefit
from these Events?
We are
commanded to spread the Gospel to the Lost
The work of the saints is to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to
the lost world. Fortunately, we are not commanded to build the
church.
"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it" Psa 127:1
It is our job to plant and water the Seed of the Word and allow God to give the increase as He sees fit.
"I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase" 1 Corinthians 3:6
A large part of our work is to warn the Lost of
judgment.
My wife and I have been soul winners at Fairs and Festivals for many
years in all types of cultural situations. We have found that
we do a lot more warning than winning.
"But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand" Ezekiel 33:6
Tell everyone you can, then let the Lord sort out who was saved and who was not. The good part about Fairs and Festivals is that you an tell so many more there than anywhere else.
We are to restore the Backsliden
God's people have a way of constantly slipping back into the
*World, the *Flesh or the *Devil. There are probably more
backsliden Christians that Spiritual.
"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye
which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness;
considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted"
Galatians 6:1
As Spiritual Christians, it is our job to restore the Backsliden. Fairs and Festivals offer 100's of opportunities to contact the Backsliden. Even if they never come to church, someone has to be there to give them warning.
We are to
grow up the Immature Christians
Fairs and Festivals offer many opportunities to take the
immature Christians of our church to show them how to reach the Lost
and Backsliden and encourage them to participate. Show them
the snares of the Devil. How he blinds the lost. How he
uses the flesh. How he promises the world. People come
back from Public Events with their eyes wide open and their heart
heated up.
The mature
Christians are to bear the burden
Fairs and Festivals are perfect places to train Soul Winners, win
the Lost, warn the Backsliden and teach others to do the same.
"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also" 2 Tim 2:2
