"Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of
utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in
bonds"
Colossians 4:3
The vision for our ministry is almost endless.
We also serve a God who has
* bottomless pockets,
* endless mercy
* boundless grace
* eternal love to exercise them all
For this reason we ask you to petition the
Lord for His help in the following areas. The roll
is too long for you to put on your prayer list, so if possible, pick out an
area this month that you think the Lord would have you pray about,
then another area next month.
*
Protection at Events
We recently heard about a shop owner who asked a man to leave
because he was loud and unreasonable. The man returned with a
container of gasoline, which he doused on the shop owner, then lit
it.
Sometimes we engage loud, unreasonable people. In a
day where people almost volunteer to misunderstand situations, the
booth is good place for this to happen. Pray for our safety.
*
Protection on the Roads
We drive very many miles per year on highways and streets which are
only divided by a yellow stripe to keep oncoming traffic at high
speeds from getting in our grill.
We are asking that they stay on their side and also, we stay on ours and the deer stay in the
trees. Any kind of break down on the highway can turn
into an ordeal. And after dark it can turn ugly. Pray
that the Lord keep our equipment together, in motion and towards the
event or home.
*
Health
We know so many who's ministry was cut short because one or the
other spouses was not able to keep up due to less than perfect
health. The older we get the more help we need in this area.
Even with perfect health, stamina can be taxed. Pat and Steve,
both, engage in exercise on a weekly basis, per doctor's guidance, to
stay ...
* healthy
* operable
* resilient
Steve has had to add a prescription to his daily routine.
Pray with us in this area.
*
Opportunity to Present the Ministry
Pastors are a vital link in our ability to get before church members
to let them know what can be done at Public Events.
But, Pastors are also very busy and very mobile, so contacting them
and getting them to listen to a short introduction is difficult, but
imperative.
Pray that there can be communication.
*
Doors Closing in Some Areas
There are pockets where events learn from each other. One
piece of information they find useful is to keep out "Non-Profits"
(religious groups). Events that have more than enough
booths rented are the ones using this exclusion. The events
that want to rent every available spot they can, will not hesitate
to rent anyone a booth. Prosperity does something to the
heart. Pray for us in this. We are seeing more
and more use this exclusion. Within 100 miles of San Antonio,
TX, there are now 6 events excluding Non-Profits. Only 5
years ago there were 2-3.
*
Opportunity to Work Important Public Events
All events are important, but some are more important because of
large numbers of people in very needy areas.
* Sometimes the event Guidance Committee is not agreeable.
* Sometimes, especially with large events, there is no local church
to help.
* Sometimes funds are not available to buy the tracts or pay the booth rental fees.
* Sometimes scheduling conflicts.
* Sometimes the weather is not agreeable.
Pray that the need be met by the power of God.
*
Support
*Prayerful *Financial *Encouragement
This whole page is about prayer so we will not mention further.
Financial support is always an up and down situation.
Things
change and so do commitments. Individuals and churches always
do their best, but are not always able to supply as promised.
Needs change, too.
While traveling down an Interstate Highway a pickup truck was coming
on by way of the on-ramp, when he lost a piece of fire wood and a
heavy piece of steel. One hit our bumper and the other
went through our grill. The insurance paid up, but far from
all. In a second our needs change violently.
Encouragement is often not mentioned.
Both of us are positive in outlook and see the bright side in almost
every encounter. But being able to see problems with a 1000
watt bulb is better than even 500 watts. Both are bright, but
one is better than the other.
Pray our lamps be high voltage,
high amps and providing high visibility.
*
Numbers
We usually are not concerned about how many did this or how many did
not do that. Numbers do not tell the result. But numbers
do indicate how much is in the account, how fast the truck is moving
and how much the tracts cost.
Pray our numbers meet the expectations that God has for our
ministry.
*
Open Hearts
If a person is not open to anything, much less the Gospel, he or
she is not going to receive spiritual input and will not be saved
Pray that we can be when and where people are open.
*
Workers
The fields are ready for harvest according to the Lord, but He
tells us to pray for
workers.
Help is needed.
* Help from full and part-time missionaries
* Help from churches at their local events
* Help in just getting the Gospel out verbally and texturally
* Even help for the helpers
*
Web Site
Pray that our Web Page can be used to reach more people for
Christ and that church members can be exhorted to action. Pray
the Page be an encourager in many different ways.
* A source of salvation
* A resource to churches for Soul Winning ideas and materials
* A follow-up for recent converts at Public Events. Much of the material
we give converts has our Web Address
* A resource for eBooks (paperless books) for Soul Winning, Studies, and so on
* Opportunities to use our "new training video" for Greeting,
Meeting and Seating prospects for a witness.
The potential is huge in many areas
*
Vehicles
Operational transportation is imperative. Pray that our
transportation stays mechanically sound.
* Truck
* Car
* Trailer
*
Soul Winning Materials
Pray that our tracts and printed helps be
* useful to the Lord
* improved were necessary
* created as needed
Much more can be
done if we are sensitive to God's leading.
